The main raw material for foreign production is polyethylene (PE), and domestic production is mainly polypropylene (PP), which is a thermoplastic resin made by polymerization of ethylene. In industry, copolymers of ethylene with small amounts of α-olefins are also included. Polyethylene is odorless, non-toxic, feels like wax, has excellent low temperature resistance (the operating temperature can reach -70 ~-100 ℃), good chemical stability, can resist the erosion of most acids and alkalis (not resistant to oxidizing acids), is insoluble in general solvents at normal temperature, has small water absorption and excellent electrical insulation performance. However, polyethylene is very sensitive to environmental stress (chemical and mechanical effects) and has poor heat aging resistance. The properties of polyethylene vary from species to species, depending mainly on the molecular structure and density. Products with different densities (0.91~0.96g/cm3) can be obtained by different production methods. Polyethylene can be used in general thermoplastic molding methods (see plastic processing) processing. It is widely used in the manufacture of films, containers, pipes, monofilaments, wires and cables, daily necessities, etc., and can be used as high-frequency insulation materials for televisions, radars, etc. With the development of petrochemical industry, polyethylene production has developed rapidly, accounting for about 1/4 of the total output of plastics. In 1983, the total production capacity of polyethylene in the world was 24.65Mt, and the capacity of the device under construction was 3.16Mt.
Polypropylene (PP)
A thermoplastic resin made by the polymerization of propylene. There are three configurations of isotactic, random and syndiotactic, and industrial products are mainly composed of isotactic. Polypropylene also includes copolymers of propylene with minor amounts of ethylene. Usually translucent colorless solid, odorless non-toxic. Because the structure is regular and highly crystallized, the melting point is as high as 167 ℃, heat resistance, and the products can be sterilized by steam. Density 0.90g/cm3, is a light general-purpose plastic. Corrosion resistance, tensile strength 30MPa, strength, rigidity and transparency are better than polyethylene. The disadvantage is that the low temperature impact resistance is poor, and it is easy to age, but it can be overcome by modifying and adding antioxidants.
The color of the woven bag is generally white or off-white, non-toxic and tasteless, and the harm to the human body is generally small. Although it is made of various chemical plastics, its environmental protection is strong and its recycling is strong;
